Thiruvambadi


Thiruvambady  is a hilly town in Kozhikode district. This is an Assembly constituency and a Panchayath. Thiruvambady Assembly constituency was established on 1977. It is also pronounced as Thiruvampady. Thiruvambady is located on the banks of Iruvanjippuzha which is a tributary of Chaliyar situated 35 km far from Kozhikode city. Thiruvambady was established on 1805 (British Rule). People migrated to here from 1938. This is a beautiful place filled with mountains and waterfalls. Famous waterfalls like Thusharagiri Falls and Arippara, Urumi, Koyippara are near to this place. Vellarimala trucking is also an important tourism project. People in here are almost in equal ratio of Hindu, Muslims and Christians. Most people are engaged in agriculture and business activities. Students from here is populorous in sports and arts.
